ILAJE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN MEETS WITH THE IDIGBENGBEN COMMUNITY LEADERS OVER THE INSTALLATION OF NEW MONARCH; DELIVERS GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA'S MESSAGE AT THE MEETING
--The Community Chiefs/Leaders must maintain peace and order in the selection processes of the new Monarch says LG Chairman.

In a deliberate efforts at ensuring fairness, justice and peace in the Obaship selection processes that will lead to the appointment and installation of new Monarch in Idigbengben Kingdom in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, the Visionary Executive Chairman of Ilaje Local Government Hon.Amona Maurice Oripenaye (ARAH), met with the Traditional/ Community Chiefs and Leaders of the Kingdom to clearly explain the procedures and Processes involve in the selection, appointment and installation of the new Monarch in Idigbengben Kingdom.
While delivering the message of the Executive Governor of Ondo State at the Secretariat Complex Hall in Igbokoda, Hon Amona Maurice Oripenaye (ARAH) made it known that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa appreciated the electoral Support given to him by the Idigbengben Community Chiefs/Leaders and people during the 2024 gubernatorial election in the State which was part of the results that gave him the landslide victory at the poll.Similarly, the LG Chairman also disclosed that the State Governor has approved the selection process for the appointment and installation of the new Monarch of Idigbengben Kingdom who will ascend the traditional stool of the Kingdom and then pilot affairs of the traditional administration/leadership of the Kingdom.This development reflects the deep commitment of the Ilaje Local Government in collaboration with the Ondo State Government at establishing more traditional institution for the progress and development of the Ilaje land.
Furthermore, the LG Chairman stated that the essence of holding this crucial Meeting is to properly inform the royal Families such as the Ketan family, the Niyanwo family and the Oyebokun family in the Idigbengben Kingdom of the role of the Government and the Community Leaders in the selection processes that will give birth to the appointment and installation of the new King.Also, he admonished the Community Chiefs/Leaders in the Kingdom to maintain peace and order in the course of this Obaship Processes, urging them to go home and select the Crown Prince to the throne..Moreover, the Secretary to the Local Government Hon Odolo Segun and the Ilaje LG DGSA Mr Akinnodi Vincent Ayokunle told the Chiefs to identify the royal Families of Awoete Descendants of Idigbengben Kingdom present at the meeting..''the traditional stool of Idigbengben Kingdom is very paramount to the government of Ondo State''.says the LG Chairman
At the meeting, the Idigbengben Kingdom Regent Olatuga Emila appreciated the Ondo State Governor and the Ilaje Local Government for the acknowledge of her Letters as regards this Obaship matter, urging the royal Families to continue to appreciate the Government's role in maintaining peace and order on their kingship matter.This meeting also underscores the significance of Government's responsibility and the Community Leaders' roles in the selection, appointment and installation of Monarch towards the development of the traditional institution in land.The meeting came up on Tuesday September 23, 2025 at the Ilaje LG Secretariat.
