NRC Resumes Abuja Kaduna Train Service As MD Rides With Passengers




The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) in fulfillment of it's promise to resume train service operations on the Abuja Kaduna route on Wednesday 1st October 2025, Nigeria's 65th independence anniversary celebration day, kept to its words as she resumed operations with the managing director and chief executive officer of the corporation Dr Kayode Opeifa also among the passengers on the trip. 

According to a press release signed by the chief public relations officer of (NRC) Callistus Unyimadu on behalf the management, he stated that the resumed train services departed from the Idu station in Abuja, stopped at Kubwa to pick up passengers and arrived at it's final destination Rigasa station in Kaduna State and also did a return journey along same route.

Speaking to newsmen at Rigasa station, the MD of NRC Dr Kayode Opeifa who was also on board to be able to see things for himself, expressed gratitude to God for being able to achieve the recovery efforts and resumption in a record time. 

He highlighted the central role of railway system to fostering national unity and development, while noting the continuous massive investments in railway infrastructure across the country by the President Bola Tinubu administration.

Dr. Kayode Opeifa reiterated his commitment to turning around the fortunes of NRC in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Tinubu administration for economic prosperity of Nigerians.

Comrade Opeifa assured the commuting public of the uncompromising commitment of NRC to efficient, safe and comfortable train experience on all corridors.
