*COMMITTEE FOR THE DEFENCE OF HUMAN RIGHTS (CDHR) COMMISERATES WITH THE NIGERIA LABOUR CONGRESS (NLC) OVER THE LOSS OF HER NATIONAL SECRETARY, COMRADE EMMANUEL UGBOAJA*

The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) expresses its profound sadness and commiserates with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the family, colleagues, and comrades of Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja, General Secretary of the NLC, over his passing.

Comrade Ugboaja was a committed trade unionist and a courageous voice in the struggle for workers’ rights, social justice, and a better Nigeria. His dedication to the labour movement and the defence of the interests of Nigerian workers will remain a significant part of his legacy.

His death is a painful loss not only to the NLC and the labour movement but also to the broader struggle for human rights, justice, dignity, and democratic values.

At this difficult moment, CDHR extends its deepest condolences to the leadership and entire membership of the NLC, his family, friends, associates, and all who mourn this great loss.

We pray that God will grant his family and comrades the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

May the soul of Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja rest in perfect peace.
